(In collaboration with Open Impact)
In collaboration with Open Impact, CSC provided strategic advisory support to a large family foundation investing across the Northwestern United States, with a significant portfolio in arts, culture, and community vitality.
Engaged for my deep experience in arts and culture ecosystems and systems change strategy, I supported the foundation in aligning its philanthropic investments with long-term, ecosystem-level impact. This work focused on strengthening coherence between capital strategy, community relationships, and the structural conditions shaping regional cultural life.
Rather than treating grantmaking as a series of discrete transactions, the advisory process emphasized:
- Integrated capital alignment across financial, relational, and social resources
- Strengthening collaborative learning among grantees and partners
- Centering regional cultural knowledge and lived experience
- Clarifying how investments could support both institutional stability and field-level transformation
Through strategic counsel and facilitated dialogue, the foundation deepened its capacity to act not only as a funder, but as a steward of the broader arts and culture ecosystem.
This engagement reflects CSC’s commitment to supporting philanthropic leaders in aligning inner clarity, relational trust, and structural investment strategies to cultivate lasting, regenerative impact.
